Choosing the Right Books Part 2
The books in our HIP Senior series have a range of topics and appeal to students at different levels of maturity. While they can often be read by quite young students, their real appeal is to students from age 10 to 16, grades 4 and higher.
Since teachers have asked, here are various ways to sort the books...
The simplest sorting is by age appeal. The books for younger students have simpler problems and younger characters; the books for older students often involve family problems, breaking the law or rebellion against parents. Of course, all HIP Junior novels are written for students in grades 4-6. HIP Senior titles have a greater degree of variation:
